Can I ask you a favour?

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Can I ask you a favour?There's something you could do for us as we plant Hope Community Church that will help us more than any other thing and it won't cost you a penny.Could I ask you to pray for us please?This morning I was reading from 2 Corinthians in my morning devotion. In chapter 1 verse 11 it reads:

"You also must help us by prayer, so that many will give thanks on our behalf for the blessing granted us through the prayers of many."

The apostle Paul recognised the vital need for others' prayers and we do too. We're so aware that without God's hand moving we really won't achieve anything of lasting significance and that's exactly what we hope to achieve. We want to see Hope impact the lives of those in our communities for their good, starting now and into eternity.Paul goes on to say in verse 20:

"For all the promises of God find their Yes in him. That is why it is through him that we utter our Amen to God for his glory."

Pastor John Piper explains what Paul means like this:"Prayer is a response to promises, that is, to the assurances of God’s future grace. Amen means, “Yes, Lord, you can do it.” It means, “Yes, Lord, you are powerful. Yes, Lord, you are wise. Yes, Lord, you are merciful. Yes, Lord, all future grace comes from you and has been confirmed in Christ.”“Amen” is an exclamation point of hope after a prayer for help."I love the way Piper phrases this - "an exclamation point of hope after a prayer for help". God has made promises that "he will build his church", he has commissioned us to "go make disciples" and we would ask you to pray for us in this assurance of God's grace towards his people.
