Blueprints

[vc_row el_class="blog-body"][vc_column][vc_column_text]A few years back as our family was growing we realised we needed to extend our house. We discussed our options, dreamed about decor, and over time, as we consulted with experts, our ideas began to take shape. Eventually the time came for the plans for our new extension to be unveiled - suddenly things started getting exciting. We poured over the drawings and made lots of ooh and aah noises.Several months ago, when we were silently wondering if we really should step out and do this church plant thing, a friend of ours had a prophetic encouragement for us. It was a picture about building and drawing up plans – specifically plans about capacity, purpose and people. So once again we've found ourselves dreaming some dreams and talking through ideas - with a fair bit of talking to our heavenly architect too! Basically we’ve been drawing up the blueprints of what Hope Community Church will look and feel like. We’re trusting God for it to look something like this:‘To be a bible-saturated, gospel-focused, Spirit-filled community of worshippers who love Jesus, love the world and love one another’ That’s our vision – that’s the purpose we’re heading for.You can get a good sense of what it will feel like to be part of it by reading our church values on the website here. The Apostle Paul speaks of Jesus as our foundation cornerstone (Ephesians 2:19-22, and Peter speaks similarly in 1 Peter 2:4-6) and we feel this so strongly at this time. We are hugely aware of our need to build upon the rock of Jesus and seek his plans for each step, resting in his perfect timing and provision. The third part of our friend's encouragement to us was about people. If you’re looking at these plans and feeling a Spirit-led ooh or aah, maybe you're part of this! Maybe you're one of these people. We’d love to hear from you – drop us a line or fill in the form at www.hope-community.church/#contact_section[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
