A door of hope
[vc_row el_class="blog-body"][vc_column][vc_column_text]“And there I will give her her vineyards and make the Valley of Achor a door of hope.”Hosea 2:15Notice how our logo looks like a door? It wasn't planned to, it just ended up that way – so we got really excited when we found this scripture! If you look at the footnotes in your bible you'll see that the word Achor means trouble. In this passage we see God speaking about making the depths of our troubles into doors of Hope. This is what we want Hope Community Church to be all about. Our prayer is that the church will be a door of hope for so many people. People who need to know Jesus, and people who need the love of Jesus expressed to them very practically. One of many great things about a church – a gathered people – is the number of skills it gathers too! People who are great listeners for the burdened, people who are great talkers for the lonely. People who are great at fixing broken stuff, people who are great at fixing broken hearts. And that's God's plan – that the local church will help bring His hope to its community, practically and spiritually. As Ephesians 2:10 says: He has prepared good works for us to walk into.So we're really looking forward to the day we open the door of Hope Community Church! But we know we can't do that in our own strength, we need His. So, we're praying, and we would love it if you could stand with us in prayer too, and ask God for the community and for the people He wants to give hope to.Over the next few weeks we're looking to have our first prayer meetings! They're going to be on the 13th and 23rd of August and you can find out more here. We'd love to have you along so please join us if you can to pray for Canterbury and Whitstable, and Hope Community Church.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
